Pharmacy Director Business Ops – Managed Care Contracting

Major Responsibilities:Directs, oversees and provides strategy for payer contracting, reviews and negotiates contracts, develops financial models.May direct business units which serve to maximize contract success.Serves as liaison to various interdisciplinary groups for purposes of optimizing pharmacy services, including 340B enhancement, enterprise population health, hospitals, retail and other areas.Leads/participates in pharmacy related business development opportunitiesEnsures operations and customer service support to physician groups, hospitals, retail pharmacy and strategic service lines in order to build loyalty and trust.Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee moraleDevelops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls for business unitsLeads initiatives that ensure AAH retail and specialty pharmacy inclusion in national/regional PBM plans.Education/Experience Required:Bachelors degree in Business or Pharmacy; Master in Business, preferredTypically requires 7 years of experience in a multi-hospital, health system environment, to include 3 years of supervisory/management level experienceKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Understanding of all applicable state and federal lawsUnderstanding of reporting methods, cost management and ROI principlesDemonstrated success working in a complex, matrix organizationAbility to coach, motivate and drive performance from a diverse team of leadersUnderstanding of the value of diversity and inclusion for our businessAbility to hold direct reports and other team members accountable for resultsThis job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
