OneLegacy: Medical Records Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven counties of the greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate opening for a Full Time Medical Records Coordinator in the Los Angeles and Orange offices.Position Description: The Medical Records Coordinator (MRC) will provide support to the donation development department by entering, filing and retrieval of any donor related data from hospital records; and handling of all communication with regard to donor records for internal and external entities.

The MRC will be responsible for the collecting and processing of the Hospital Death Lists; will review data for the OneLegacy donor information reports and communicate with the donation development and donor information teams, on an ongoing basis and providing timely reporting to meet OneLegacy’s goals.

The MRC will also support the Donor Information department and be responsible for the review of incoming donor charts for hospital records completeness and contacting the hospital to obtain outstanding records.Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required.

Preferred coursework to include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding and abstraction of data, statistics, database management, quality improvement methods, and computer science.

A minimum of 2 years of previous medical records experience and/or medical or health science background preferred.

Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.OneLegacy requires employees to maintain a current California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.Qualified applicants must be able to successfully complete the OneLegacy application and background screening process.OneLegacy offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.
