Ocular Gene Therapy Scientist

My client is conducting cutting-edge gene therapy research and development and seeks a Scientist to join their discovery group.

The ideal candidate will take on the following tasks: Conduct target discovery, validation, and proof of concept studies for human ocular diseases.

Assess in-vivo distribution of AAV vectors requiring ocular tissue collection, dissection, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, RNA and DNA isolation and qPCR.

Perform ex-vivo assay for target validation and define mechanism of action for potential gene therapy candidates.

Design and conduct proof of concept studies in animal models of ocular disease.

Stay current of ongoing research in AAV and ocular gene therapy through reading and interpreting literature.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: MS/PhD and experience with AAV vectors and their use in animal models is required.

Ophthalmology experience is preferred.

Experience with tissue processing, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, microscopy, qPCR analysis, and ELISA is required.

Competence in microsurgery, OCT imaging and ERG is a plus.
