Join us, and discover why U.S. News & World Report has named us one of Americas Best Hospitals!**What’s this role all about?**The Occupational Therapist Clinical Resident at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles will evaluate and treats patients in accordance with the prescription of the physician. Provides patient care consistent with Scope of Practice Standards and Code of Ethics; the Plan for the Provision of Care to Patients, the Plan for Corporate Compliance, the Performance Improvement Plan and Patient Education Plan. The Fellow assists in the continuous quality improvement process and in the education and training of students, as applicable, and assists in divisional growth and cohesiveness to ensure a high quality of therapy care. Provides care maintaining safety of the environment, utilizing appropriate communication with sensitivity and attention to special populations, including patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, age, developmental issues and physical disabilities.The Fellowship Program in Occupational Therapy is designed to provide the fellow with one year of post-graduate advanced practice which includes: training in patient clinical practice and professional development and may include research, operational/administrative duties or program development. The fellow ensures completion of required didactic, clinical and mentored hours, based upon the setting’s needs and the requirements of the program. The fellow will have an identified clinical and research mentor.Schedule will include one weekend day every third week.**Educational Requirements:**+ Minimum: Master’s Degree; graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.+ Preferred: Doctorate Degree; completion of formal occupational therapy education and training from an accredited institution required for licensure.**License/Certification/Registration Requirements:**+ Current Occupational Therapist license per California State requirements.+ Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.**What else are we looking for?**+ No experience required. Must be competent by virtue of training and/or experience to perform evaluations, design and implement treatment plans and provide education in a manner appropriate to the age of the patient.+ Clinical experience in the acute hospital setting preferred.**Physical Demands:**+ Able to push, pull, lift or carry 0-100 pounds on an intermittent basis;+ Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat consistently in order to safely administer manual exercises and techniques;+ Able to assist patient with physical activities such as transfers, bed mobility, and ambulation.+ Able to identify need for an arrange assistance to maintain safe techniques.Cedars-Sinai is an EEO employer.
