Responsibilities

Join our dynamic Radiology team as a Nurse Practitioner Supervisor!

TheNP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate“standardized procedures” (SP).  The NP provides and coordinates the care of InterventionalRadiology patients, provides patient/family education and promotes safe continuity of care. Participate ininterdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provide education and support as well asmake appropriate referrals.  Documentservices rendered.

In addition, thisrole supervises the practice and performance of a group of NPs caring and performingconsultations for the Radiology population. The NP III Supervisor functions asan expert in formulating medical diagnosis, plan of care, developingStandardized Procedures, Protocols and other related patient care issues. Thisposition directs the daily operation of care services provided by nurse practitionerswith the focus on the provision of prompt and effective delivery of care. Inaddition, the administrative responsibilities include recruitment, education, promotion andevaluation of NPs.

Qualifications

  • MSN/DNP with NP specialty in FNP, Adult, or Acute Care – required. Acute Care NP preferred.
  • Active CA RN and NP license-required.
  • Active BLS and ACLS certification-required.
  • National Certification in NP specialty-required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as NP-required.
  • Previous supervisory experience- preferred.
  • Previous Radiology experience- preferred.
  • Ability to travel between the Westwood and Santa Monica campuses as well as other UCLA Health sites -required.

Abilityto develop and monitor complex and comprehensive plans of care
Abilityto develop, monitor and evaluate clinical protocols, standards of care, P/P andother documents related to patient care
Abilityto assess educational needs of staff, patient and family
Abilityto develop and implement educational programs
Abilityto interview, select and promote and mentor nurse practitioner staff
Abilityto supervise clinical performance of staff and contribute to evaluation
Abilityto consult on a broad spectrum of professional nursing practice issuesincluding but not limited to: nursing practice performance standards, programdevelopment, professional practice models, research utilization models, systemchange strategies and professional development
Abilityto conduct and utilize research
Abilityto apply principles of change theory and systems theory to implement innovativepatient care practices system-wide
Abilityto evaluate clinical and financial outcomes
