We would be happy to hear from you. The Smidt Heart Institute is home to a distinguished team of experts who are setting the bar for cardiovascular treatment in the United States. The Institute unites 16 centers and programs to diagnose and treat the full spectrum of heart and vascular conditions for all patients, from infants to those with advanced disease. Compassionate care is integrated with an agile research enterprise, giving patients access to pioneering treatments. Summary of Duties: * Responsible for the planning and coordination of all aspects of the work up and care for the Hem-Onc patients at risk for Heart Disease, throughout the continuum of services – from initial referral to follow up care * Uses expert Cardio-Oncologic knowledge, clinical skills and critical thinking in managing daily delivery of patient care services assuring implementation of the appropriate clinical processes and coordinating/promoting an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care * Triage patient referrals to appropriate MD according to level of medical needs * Provides consultative services on inpatient Cardio-Oncology patients and is available for same day clinic visits and follow-up on patient related studies * Performs appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for identification and management of patient diagnosis following established standardized protocols * Appropriately documents procedures and follow-up as necessary * Provides individualized care upholding CSHS philosophies including but not limited to care consistent with Nursing standards of Care/Practice, the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, and the Plan for Provision of Patient Care, the Performance Improvement Plan, the Patient Education Plan, the professional Organization Standards, Code of Conduct, and hospital and departmental policies and procedure * Identify the ability of the age specific population served to follow direction/instructions and give consent * Recognize safety concerns and institute measures to provide safe environment and provide appropriate assessment, intervention, and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones in the population served Education: * Master of Nursing Degree required * Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program required License/Certifications: * Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License required * National Certification by respective accredited professional nursing organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) required (or eligible to obtain) * Current NP Furnishing License required * DEA license required (or eligible to obtain) * ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required Experience: * 1+ years NP experience strongly preferred * Prior experience in cardiac or cardiac surgery * Working Title: Nurse Practitioner – Cardio-Oncology * Department: Cardiology Diagnostic * Business Entity: Service Lines & Ops * City: Los Angeles * Job Category: Nursing * Job Specialty: Advanced Practice (RN) * Position Type: Full-time * Shift Length: 10 hour shift * Shift Type: Day Cedars-Sinai is an EEO employer.
