An award winning Southern California nonprofit Medical Center is seeking an experience Nurse Manager Medical Surgical Oncology to join their well-regarded institution.
The Oncology Medical Surgical Nurse Manager will be managing a busy 32-bed unit and supported by tenured and skilled Assistant Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, Nurse Educators and approximately 80 Staff Nurses. The Oncology Services Nurse Manager will be part of a team that inspires courage in patients and encourages family participation at every step of the journey.
The Medical Surgical Nurse Manager will maintain the day to day operations of the center including all aspects of care: Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy, Treatment of non-cancerous blood disorders, post-surgical patients, and pain management. The Hospital is also on the cutting edge of technology, recently adding a CT scanner, which can produce 4D images of body organs.
The Medical Surgical Oncology Nurse Manager will report to the Administrative Director Acute Care Services, and will be responsible for 24-hour supervision for the Medical Surgical Oncology unit. The Nurse Manager Cancer Center will collaborate with oncology nurses, dietitians, social workers, educators, advanced practice nurses and physicians.
The Nurse Manager Medical Surgical Oncology will also assume fiscal responsibility for the unit budgets, serve as a liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promote the internal growth and development of each employee, support nursing research and assure patient advocacy.
