A well-respected non-profit 300-bed Southern California Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Manager of Cardiovascular Services.
The Cardiac Rehab Nurse Manager will report to the Director of Cardiovascular services, and will be supported by 3 Assistant Nurse Managers, Supervisors and team of registered nurses. The Medical Center has been part of the community for over 75 years, and last year saw: 60,000 emergency visits, delivered 3,500 newborns, and performed 5,000 inpatient and 7,000 outpatient surgeries.
The primary goal of a cardiac rehab unit is to help patients who have experienced heart attacks, undergone heart surgeries (such as bypass surgery or valve replacement), or are living with chronic heart conditions to regain strength, improve cardiovascular health, and reduce the risk of future heart-related events.
The Cardiovascular Services Nurse Manager is responsible for leading the highly skilled and educated staff into continued success. The Cardiac Rehab Nurse Manager will be responsible for staff education, performance improvement, patient satisfaction and safety, budgeting, physician relations and personnel management.
The Cardiac rehabilitation program includes supervised exercise training tailored to the individuals needs and abilities, education about heart-healthy lifestyle choices (such as diet, exercise, smoking cessation, and stress management), counseling and emotional support, and medical management as needed. The program aims to improve patients’ overall quality of life, functional capacity, and long-term prognosis following a cardiac event or procedure.
