Neuro/Ortho Occupational Therapist – 30-40 Hours Per Week, $5000.00 Retention Bonus

1.

Evaluate and treat acute care and swing bed patients as prescribed by a licensed physician, with a wide spectrum of diagnoses.

2.

Supervise and direct occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students and rehab aides.

3.

Perform an appropriate assessment on each patient, as related to the therapy requested and provided, and reassessing as per policy.

This includes pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients, and the general patient population.

4.

Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluating effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching, as appropriate.

5.

Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of occupational therapy modalities.

6.

Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity.

Identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and families.

7.

Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly.

Maintain department cleanliness and safety.

8.

Interact professionally with patient/family and involve patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.

9.

Communicate appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff, and administrative team.

10.

Coordinate and direct patient care to ensure patients needs are met and hospital policy is followed.

11.

Maintain records pertinent to the personnel and operation of the department.

12.

Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations.

13.

Maintain a good working relationship, both within the department and with other departments.

14.

Consult other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.

15.

Participate in performance improvement activities for the department and organizational CQI activities.

16.

Meet current documentation standards and policies.

17.

Participate in educational staff performance improvement inservices.

Assist with orientation and inservice training for certified department staff members.

Participate in guidance and educational programs.

18.

Coordinate, delegate, and supervise responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (COTA, Rehabilitation Services, Aides, etc.).

19.

Provide input in formulating budget, assisting in evaluating department performance versus budget controls and taking appropriate action to remain within budget guidelines.

20.

Ensure that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis.

21.

Participate in infection control, departmental equipment training, and organizational safety and fire safety programs.

22.

Perform Occupational Therapy services off campus as directed by Rehabilitation Services Director.

Comply fully with FHW Driver policies, processes and procedures.

Other job related duties as assigned.

Wage Range: $34.46
– $47.31 Immunizations required foremployment, including COVID-19.
