Mental Health Clinician I Lead – Diversion 50 – ID#33149A

A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION PROVIDING MENTAL HEALTH SOLUTIONS

Provide onsite field based and direct and indirect services including assessment, plan development, case management services, crisis intervention and facilitate weekly psychoeducational group onsite. Be part of multi-disciplinary treatment team that assessed and stabilizes clients according to mental health and basic needs. Must have knowledge of DSM V TR diagnostic system and DMH documentation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct and indirect client services/ assessment both at San Fernando/ Van Nuys Court house and at Program location.

Participate in a team approach and assertive community outreach, assessment and evaluation of assigned Diversion 50 clients. Determine individual’s strengths, needs and resources. Assess client’s level of psychosocial impairment, self-care potential, family and support network availability, independent living needs, financial status, educational, employment or training needs, and social/recreational needs. Develop and coordinate service plans.

Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments at intake in order to enroll clients in program.  Complete all documentation within mandated time frames and in compliance with county, state, and Center guidelines.  Assist clients in developing independent living skills, and resources including social/recreational, vocational or educational goals, needed to implement and achieve goals of the individual service plan.

Transports clients to and from appropriate service as necessary.  Provide crisis intervention—intervene with the client/others at the onset of a crisis to provide support and assistance in problem resolution and to coordinate or arrange for the provision of other needed services.  Maintain open communication with Mental Health Court Linkage Staff and be available for immediate assistance with all referrals provided.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION:
Waivered LMFT/ LCSW or LPCC in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Proof of BBS registration and Master’s Degree.
Minimum of four years experience in behavioral health care; experience with forensic chronic mentally ill preferred. Knowledge of DSM V TR required. Co-occurring Chemical dependency/mental health experience preferred.

MA degree from an approved graduate school or program; MFTI or ACSW; Experience working with children in a behavioral health setting; Valid CA Driver License and insurable by the Center’s automobile
