Job Title:  Medical Staff Services Coordinator

Job Summary: 

Under the direction of the Medical Staff Services Director, actively participates in Medical Staff clinical Department/Division and Committee meetings with responsibility for management support to such groups as assigned.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service behaviors and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.  The Medical Staff Services Coordinator reports to the Medical Staff Services Director.

Essential Job Duties: 

•         Demonstrates the ability to comply with Medical Staff procedures.

•         Coordinates and prepares Medical Staff meeting agendas and packets, attends meetings, prepares minutes, and follows up on actions as designated.

•         Responsible for maintaining credentialing database with regard to accuracy of data and functional use of credentialing program.

•         Generates correspondence and sends correspondence, promotional material, and other publications to Medical Staff as requested.

•         Generates statistical and status reports as requested.

•         Coordinates credentialing activities which may include integration of privileging criteria, proctoring, and quality improvement activities into the overall credentialing process.

•         Serve as support to the credentialing process.

Education/Experience:

•         High school graduate or equivalency required.

•         Three years consecutive experience in Medical Staff Services in an acute care setting.

•         Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (TJC, CMS, Title 22, etc.)

•         Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Credentialing and EMR databases.

•         Ability to formulate routine reports and correspondence.

Licensure/Certifications:

•         Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM), Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), or Associate Degree preferred.
