Medical Security Guard – Overnight

Description: Responsible for patrolling the hospital and campus grounds to prevent unwanted intrusion orincidents from occurring by making hourly rounds of the facility and premises and maintains avisible presence within the entire facility.

Monitors video camera feeds to ensure that all areas are safe and secure.

Performs a security check of all doors and windows on a regular basis.

Must respond and assist with security concerns, calls, alarms, or overhead emergency pagingimmediately.

This may require rapid stair climbing, running/sprinting, moving of heavy equipmentand other associated tasks.

In the event of emergencies, must take charge of maintaining order, safety and protect personneland property.

Some activities can involve interacting with and controlling hostile, belligerent,aggressive individuals involving some element of danger or risk of injury.

Operate fire alarm system during drills or actual events.

Greets patients/visitors/vendors/staff with a smile.

Provides any persons on hospital grounds withinstruction, assistance, direction or information.

Escorts visitors and personnel from the building on an as needed basis.

Documents all incidents and contacts local authorities for assistance on an as needed basis.

Maintains proper record keeping standards in accordance with regulatory bodies.

Monitors and logs mechanical equipment (chillers, boilers, pumps and temperature readings) duringovernight and weekend shifts when standard staff is not onsite and reports any equipmentanomalies to Facilities immediately.

Enforce organizational policies specific to safety and hospital grounds (i.e.

parking, smoking, badgecompliance).

Operate the facility golf cart, which may include transporting patients and visitors.

Other duties as assigned Skills: Risk management, guard, data entry, Security, Customer service, Safety Top Skills Details: Risk management,guard,data entry Additional Skills & Qualifications: One year of security experience is preferred.

Previous healthcare industry experience is preferred.
