Medical Group Coordinator (Non-Exempt) – SOH Dr. Bhatia

Responsibilities

The Medical Group Coordinator is responsible for managing in patient flow and provider inpatient assignments.  The Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and supporting the coding and billing process for the hospitalist as well as managing compliance and timely completion.  The Coordinator assists in shift transitioning as well as a hub for hospitalist communication.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for all new hires effective April 2014.
  2. Knowledge of medical terminology, coding and billing
  3. Provider facility and payor/insurance credentialing
  4. Experience with HMO, Medicare and/or Medi-cal billing practices
  5. Proficient with MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel and Outlook).
  6. Experience in healthcare preferred, preferably in an acute care setting.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
