Medical Education Operations Assistant and Events/Didactics Lead

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Director of MedicalEducation, you will support all trainees within theDepartment of Pediatrics as part of the centralized Office of MedicalEducation. You will facilitate all curricular and educationalexperiences overseen by the Office of Medical Education and will support thecentralized Med Ed office in daily operations and will havespecific responsibility for graphic and web design relevant to Med Ed.

In tis role, you must independently prioritize and complete tasks following establisheddepartmental guidelines and University policies. Other special projects may be assignedby the Administrative Director for Medical Education as needed. Employee will receive direct supervisionfrom Director of Medical Education, however will also be expected to completework independently and exercise judgement in prioritizing work across multipleworkstreams.

Qualifications

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, trainees, faculty, and various levels of leadership.
  • Ability to analyze data and to display data using tables, charts, and graphs.
  • Computer skills; including use of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to use specialized educational software to record PowerPoint presentations with audio and complete the video processing of the lectures.
  • Ability to maintain organized records with both paper and electronic files.
  • Skill in coordinating meetings and events by determining location, time, arranging catering, etc.
  • Skill in operating basic audiovisual equipment, such as LCD projector, slide projector, Audience Response System and microphone systems.
  • Skill to create print material such as flyers, brochures, and handouts to be viewed by faculty, trainees, community physicians, and the general public with correct grammar and accuracy;
  • Ability to work occasional weekend days and evenings.
  • One or more years of medical education and/or student affairs experience.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of University systems such as BruinBuy and Travel Express.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
