This position will serve as a support staff member to a non-operative Spine physician in East Downtown Los Angeles, Beverlly Hills and El Segundo.
Position will oversee matters pertaining to patient care coordination & clinic flows for specific physician’s practice.
This position is administrative in nature, often similar to case management, and will include 2-3 days in clinic setting with patients, and 2-3 days in office setting performing administrative tasks.
Specific clinic duties may include: Rooming/vitaling patients, monitoring & adjusting clinic flows as needed, preparing patient charts prior to clinic, scheduling & coordinating diagnostic tests ordered by the physician, and discharging patients from clinic by coordinating any follow-up care as needed.
Administrative tasks include obtaining insurance authorizations for all outpatient procedures, answering & addressing patient phone calls, coordinating referrals & clinic visits, completing patient disability forms, faxing, scanning, copying, etc.
Minimum Education: Medical Assistant Certification (MA)
Minimum Experience/Knowledge: Open to new grads.
One year ambulatory or other ADMINISTRATIVE experience (incl.
Case Management or other experience with Insurance authorizations) is HIGHLY preferred.
Experience in Orthopaedics, Spine, Pain Management, or Neurology is preferred.
Must be highly organized & able to work in a fast paced, yet highly administrative environment involving patient care coordination.
Travel: Must be willing to travel to Beverly Hills 1 day/ week, El Segundo 1 day/ week and Keck Healthcare Campus (East Downtown Los Angeles) 3 days/week.
Required License/Certification: Valid California Medical Assistant Certification.
BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association.
