Responsibilities
Under general supervision of staff R.N., L.V.N.
and L.V.N supervisor, you will assist clinical staff of primary care clinic in normal aspects of delivery of health care to clinic population.
You will be responsible for interviewing patients, taking vital signs, recording services in patient charts, as well as in-clinic procedures, e.g., tympanometry and audiometry.
You will also administer screening tests such as UA and pregnancy tests.
In this role, you will maintain stock of clinical supplies, assist in autoclaving, and assist with volunteer orientation.
You will translate Spanish/English for providers as needed, interview patient prior to visit to determine and appropriately record reason for visit, take vital signs of patients, such as weight, height, pulse, blood pressures, etc., and record vital signs and patientÂ’s chief complaints.
You will also be responsible for various other clinical duties as assigned by clinical staff.
This is a 6-month limited appointment.

Qualifications
Ability to take vital signs such as weight, height, blood pressure and pulse
Ability to float to other facilities as needed for coverage
Valid medical assistant certification/diploma
Ability to perform tympanometry and audiometry
Ability to perform lab-screening tests such as UA and pregnancy
Working knowledge of general medical and laboratory procedures
Working knowledge of medical terminology to record medical complaints in patientÂ’s charts
English/Spanish oral skills to communicate information
Skill in interacting with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
Experience working with pediatric patients preferred
Experience working with homeless and/or/mentally ill clients preferred
Experience in family practice range of patient care preferred
Ability to comply with state law in discussing pregnancy options with clients preferred
