- $3,000 Sign-On Bonus! *** PT/FT Positions LVNs will be stationed at US Health Fairs MediPods, semi-permanent and mobile sites offering preventive health services including, but not limited to, health screenings, education, testing, and vaccination services. LVNs will work with under-resourced communities in a client-facing role, providing emergency medical care when necessary. They will provide nursing care, under the direct supervision of US Health Fairs’ on-site provider or Medical Director in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established scope of care, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates performance consistent with US Health Fairs’ Vision, and Mission of the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide preventive health services to people seeking care at US Health Fairs Medi Pods and mobile sites * Conduct preventive health screenings and testing * Give vaccines and monitor patients after administration * Enroll patients in emergency Medi-Cal when needed * Support patients with completion of client intake forms * Provides nursing assistance to physicians in a community and mobile health clinic * Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action. * Ensuring that charting is legible, dated, and timed. * Answer patients’ calls and determine how to assist them. * Measure and record patients’ vital signs * Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement intervention. * Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures. * Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other healthcare team members as necessary. * Provide basic patient care or treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, taking health screenings and administering vaccinations. * Maintains and protects patient confidentiality. * Assures a clean, orderly, and functional work environment. * Decontaminate Medi Pod and additional workspace following treatment of patient with infectious disease and report case to proper authorities. * Attend training classes to maintain certification licensure, keep abreast of new developments in the field, or maintain existing knowledge. * Answer basic client questions on preventive health services provided by US Health Fairs and referrals for additional support and information * Provide information to clients on US Health Fairs’ mission and services JOB QUALIFICATIONS * Current certification issued by the American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program, and ACLS Certification * Applicants who have a license to practice as a Vocational Nurse issued by a State Government Board of Vocational Nursing, within the United States, may compete in this examination; however, the names of such candidates will be withheld from the certification list pending receipt of the required license authorized by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians * Valid Driver’s License REQUIRED SKILLS * Demonstrates a professional, supportive attitude. * Excellent customer service, communication and problem-solving skills. * Utilizes computer systems effectively and efficiently. * Ability to read, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write short correspondence. * Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, or other incumbents of the organization. * Ability to work with diverse and under-resourced communities providing the highest standard of care PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Continuous standing and moving throughout an eight-hour shift or more * Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs, push and pull, and lifting up to 30 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT * This job operates in a professional clinical and mobile clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Dealing with all types of population, in a fast-paced setting.
