Head of Global Pharma Market Access and Pricing – Remote

This role leads the development of global market access and pricing strategies/ guidance for assigned in-line and pre-launch brands working cross functionally with global, regional and country teams.

Responsibilities also include cross functional alignment on strategies, plans and activities that will create market access for patients and prescribers across global markets.

He/ she will provide direction to local teams on what brand/ value messages to communicate through market access field based personnel and work with an agency to pull these into global payer specific materials, such as core value message elements and presentations.

In addition, this position will lead the development of dossiers, formulary kits, product monographs in collaboration with Global Medical Affairs.

He/ she will be the global market access point of contact, and will work with global health outcomes to generate analysis and publications in support of gaining coverage for Aimmune products.

This role will partner with regional and country team representatives to ensure that relevant pricing requirements for new products are identified and incorporated into the pricing strategy and pricing targets that are prepared by the global team.

This individual will lead operational market access in international regions that aren’t allocated a local market access head, and will have a dotted line reporting relationship to the SVP of the International Business.

They will also serve as a dotted line manager for international country market access leads.

This individual will also work closely with the Nestle Health Science Global Market Access Team.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Leads the development and support the execution of the market access and pricing strategy for all Aimmune assets.

• Develop and update the payer value proposition in the context of global brand plan and priorities in key markets. 

• Co-chair the Global Value Team with Global Health Economic & Outcomes Lead in discussion with country market access leads on reimbursement submission strategy, evidence generation needs for access, and any other factor that may inform and guide global market access, pricing, and commercialization strategies

• Responsible for the timely development and securing approval of core Global Market Access deliverables, including Market Access & Pricing strategy and policy, payer value deck, objection handler, negotiation handbook

• Be the global market access point person on a cross
– functional team to identify health economic and outcomes research and modelling needs to demonstrate value to payers

• Chair the GSPC and RSPC (Global/ Regional Strategic Pricing Committee)

• Direct payer and pricing market research to identify value drivers and customer insights to inform the global payer and pricing strategy

• Development and implementation of global payer, pricing and contracting strategies/ guidance for inline and pipeline assets, in collaboration with top countries and regions

• Diligently survey environmental trends and industry practices

• Apply asset-specific pricing science to develop price narratives in line with the value delivered by Aimmune, as part of the NHSc and Nestle organization

• Oversees implementation of pricing strategies at regional/ country level

• Reviews and approves pricing and contracting requests that fall outside of the pricing/ contracting guidance

• Manages international reference pricing risks and suggest/ monitor launch sequence with input from operational pricing as well as top countries and regions

• Enhance information exchange and knowledge sharing across regions

• Champion best practice and innovative approaches to pricing to raise pricing capability throughout Aimmune at both regional and country level

• Develops communication strategy for pricing rationale in collaboration with other stakeholders across the organization

• Commissions and leads strategic pricing research or consultancy projects that enhance pricing capabilities, including insights, methodologies, frameworks, databases and tools

• Conducts pricing assessments for business development and licensing evaluations.

• Create, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) for market access progress across geographies

• Work with the commercial training team to develop training for in-country market access teams

• Work as a resource for various allergy societies and patient advocacy groups regarding coding, reimbursement and other practical economic issues

• Comply with all OIG, Pharma, and Corporate Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years’ experience in global pricing, including new product planning and/or launch and commercialization of innovative, first in class specialty pharmaceutical products (required).

A Masters with 10 years relevant experience or Doctorate degree with 8 years relevant experience leading global market access; MBA strongly preferred.

• Experience in a global, multi-cultural or multi-country environment is preferred.

• Experience developing global pharmaceutical pricing policies or related pricing experience is preferred.

• A strong in-depth understanding of the payer market (such as experience in preparation of negotiation strategies) is preferred.

• Experience working with Europe, US and/or Asia PAC regulatory government bodies (preferred)

• Strong strategic, analytical, networking, and negotiation skills

• The ability to navigate and influence in a complex, global organisation

• Outstanding partnering abilities, communication, and interpersonal skills and ability to build alignment and influence across internal functions, geographies, regions, and operating companies.

• Strong technical and personal and team leadership skills to succeed in a matrix leadership role at the interface of the global and local-regional commercial organizations in the areas of pricing and market access strategy development and implementation.

• Proven ability to communicate ideas clearly to management to drive and align on pricing and market access recommendations.
