Full Time Faculty – Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Online)

SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Program Dean, Nursing, the Assistant Professor supports the University in fulfillment of its mission by providing distinguished teaching, service, and scholarship.

The faculty member provides professional leadership and support for students, serving as an educator, role model, mentor, and facilitator.

Additionally, the faculty create an educational environment that fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability by focusing extensively on facilitating online student learning associated with the prescribed course and program learning outcomes.

Furthermore, the faculty actively and substantively participates in assessment of student learning activities to ensure students meet prescribed outcomes while vigorously upholding a culture of academic integrity.

Additional duties include service to the university by providing program-specific expertise, actively engaging in relevant department initiatives, and supporting University, Campus, and/or departmental goals to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure.

The faculty member is also required to participate in scholarship activities to support personal development and the advancement of teaching and learning pedagogy or discipline specific research.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years related experience and/or training (online teaching experience is a plus).

Has limited teaching experience in a higher education environment.

Generally, those who have strong research and/or clinical backgrounds but no or limited experience in teaching meet this criterion.

Other experience outlined in service and scholarship activities of the faculty rank and promotion addendum EDUCATION: An earned doctoral (e.g.

PhD, DSc, EdD) or terminal professional degree (e.g., DNP, OTD, JD, MD, PharmD) or the degree that meets educational requirements as required by the programmatic accreditation agency (in the case of an earned clinical doctorate such as the DPT for the Physical Therapy program).

Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, EdD) and MSN, from regionally accredited institutions (or in progress with program plan for completion).

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: PMHNP Board Certified (or in progress), CA RN license obtained or pending, FL or Texas or compact required, AZ/NV preferred, 2 years of APRN experience in Psych Mental Health Qualifications/Skills: (Every effort has been made to identify the essential skills/qualifications of this position.
