Job Overview
Senior EHS Manager
– Vernon (Los Angeles) As the EHS Manager you will have responsibility for the overall safety and environmental programs for our Spartanburg site with a primary focus on the manufacturing environment of Keurig Dr Pepper .
You will oversee, develop, and implement safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental programs for a manufacturing operation to ensure compliant, safe, and incident-free work environment.
You will also promote organizational safety and continuous environmental improvement by working with all departments to analyze current situation and recommend safety and environmental improvements.
You will provide strategic directions and initiatives for safety and environmental improvement by analyzing and addressing root causes while reducing corporate liabilities and costs.
Shift and Schedule: This position will be working 2nd Shift: 2:00pm
– 10:30pm. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required as scheduled.
Compensation: This is a full-time, exempt, and salaried position paid bi-weekly.
Salary is flexible and determined by candidate’s experience level.

What you will do: Responsible for safety and industrial hygiene plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, State, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
Maintains a system for reporting, monitoring, and correcting serious safety problems. Responsible for environmental plans policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, State, and Federal environmental rules and regulations, and conformance to corporate policies for continuous environmental improvement.
Oversees health & safety, environmental, and DOT audits of all organization facilities and recommends preventative measures. As needed, ensures that corrective action is initiated by Management, and provides assistance to establish priorities. Educate Management on Safety and Environmental best practices, prevention and how to work around/with hazardous substances. Responsible for Worker’s Compensation program and compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies. Implements training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices, promote safety consciousness, ensure environmental compliance and advance continuous environmental improvement. Develops appropriate guidelines to ensure legal compliance and formulates recommendations for implementing applicable best practices consistent with the company’s strategic safety and environmental objectives. Drives implementation of strategic EH&S initiatives to achieve corporate EH&S objectives; identifies elements of change required to support the EH&S strategy; encourages management team to balance short-term demands with long term benefits of strategic EH&S programs; and inspires commitment and involvement with safety objectives and programs. Drive EH&S initiatives, which reduce incident rates and environmental impacts while also reducing company costs (e.g., amount of workers’ compensation, etc.); establishes order of priority for EH&S initiatives and drives their implementation in cooperation of other managers, EH&S specialists, safety teams, and other key personnel. Establishes specific safety and health goals and objectives for the company and departments ensuring the targets are consistent with corporate strategies and objectives. Analyzes safety processes throughout the company; proactively seeks areas of opportunity for improvement; identifies root causes of accidents; recommends changes to work flow, equipment or other process elements; and develops and implements support systems/processes (such as safety rewards and recognitions, safety communications, etc.) to achieve safety objectives. Communicates and celebrates successes to maintain and foster company-wide commitment to safety and continuous environmental improvement; and provide recommendations for corrective direction when EH&S programs deviate from strategic plans and objectives. Serves as primary liaison between applicable regulatory and government agencies.
Files and or posts reports as required by external legal and convening agencies such as OSHA 300/300A Logs, Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, Washington State Department of Ecology, etc. Formulates, maintains and executes Keurig Dr Pepper emergency plans and responds to safety and employee emergencies. Ensures all significant near misses, injuries, and safety events are investigated and abatement measures implemented. Monitors and controls industrial hygiene, which relates to the long-term effects of factors such as chemical exposure, noise, lighting, heat, and humidity.
Manages hazardous and universal waste storage and disposal in compliance with all applicable regulations. Manages the Partnership In Safety program with OSHA. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s principles, policies and applicable laws. Monitors activities where accidents could occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment. Follow all Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures.
Requirements
5-7 years’ experience applying environmental, health & safety S and DOT regulations and programs in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience preferred; 1+ years of leadership experience Safety engineering degree preferred. Experience in ISO environmental management systems preferred. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred. Strong background in ergonomic risk reduction. Ability to research and apply regulations. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders. Ability to handle confidential information appropriately imperative. Proven ability to develop safety and continuous environmental improvement as part of the Company culture. Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose solutions to problems. Ability to positively and comfortably handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing, and high-growth work environment with focused attention for detail. Must be able to travel occasionally, work in a team environment, occasionally work a flexible schedule, and adhere to and explain Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures. Ability to uphold Safety standards, participates in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follows our Manufacturing best practices. Ability to be on call 24/7 for emergencies.
