Job Description: As the Environmental, Health and Safety Representative you are responsible for establishing and promoting the maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace.

You are tasked with recommending measures to reduce and/or eliminate accidents and illnesses while complying with all federal, state, local and company rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities/Complexities: Investigates incidents or accidents, gathers, and analyzes statistics, and makes recommendations for improvements.

Promote and maintain good employee relations.

Act as liaison between employees, identify and solve employee problems and advocate a strong employee contact with an open-door policy.

Consult internally with all departments concerning employee assignments and absence related to injury and/or illness Consult with physicians and department leadership regarding availability of restricted job assignments.

Perform monthly and/or quarterly inspections for safety concerns and facility compliance; ensure maintenance of building access controls.

Plan, coordinate and deploy safety training initiatives.

Recommend measures to reduce/eliminate accidents and illnesses.

Act as a point of contact for employees with questions about safety, PPE, and/or disability.

Partner with environmental vendors to complete annual compliance documentation.

Participate in company led initiatives.

Creates and delivers safety training programs educating employees on safe working practices, appropriate equipment operation, and emergency procedures.

Other duties as assigned Competencies: Working knowledge of federal/state/local safety regulations; comprehensive knowledge of environmental/MDE/EPA compliance.

Business acumen and organizational skills.

Working knowledge of MS Office and PeopleSoft.

Highly self-motivated; ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Keen attention to detail.

Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Exceptional customer service orientation and ability to present ideas into user-friendly language.
