Position description

The Mattel Children’s Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics at UCLA seeks individuals at the Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor level in the Health Sciences series to join the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. Faculty appointment and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
We are seeking a faculty member clinician-educator to provide outpatient care and consultative inpatient attending services; assist with the education of fellows, residents and medical students; and participate other scholarly endeavors that will lead to academic promotion. The successful applicant will assume responsibility for the resident education program in the Division. Applicants should be board-certified in Pediatrics and BC/BE in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. Three years of relevant experience in an academic or clinical setting is highly desirable but highly qualified applicants with less experience will be considered. Ideal candidates should be versed in a broad range of common Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics problems, including but not limited to: ADHD; autism spectrum disorders; behavioral issues; intellectual disabilities; NICU high-risk infant follow-up; physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy; genetic issues such as Down Syndrome; sleep and feeding disorders; and, educational problems including speech, language, and learning disorders. There is opportunity to develop a specific clinical or educational focus within the larger program and the Division also includes an Early Head Start and an Early Intervention Program. UCLA offers ample opportunities for inter-disciplinary collaboration with psychology, speech and language, audiology, neurology, genetics, orthopedics, social work, and nursing, etc.
Successful candidates must be eligible to work in the USA and be licensed or licensable to practice medicine in the State of California.
