The Director of Health Servicess responsibilities are but not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Assess new move-ins.
- Maintain medical files.
- Organize medication management for residents.
- Communicate with residents and families regarding various health topics.
- Write state report for licensing.
- Communicate health report to Executive Director on a daily basis.
- Assist residents with continuation of care needs.
- Oversee residents in hospital.
- Re-assess current residents and update information to keep current.
- Delegate administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability to other staff as deemed necessary to perform their assigned duties.
- Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished
- Counsel/discipline staff as requested or as may become necessary.
- Ensure that disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or marital status.
- Participate in department managers and team leaders meetings.
- Oversee caregivers.
- Able to work weekends as necessary.
- Other duties as required.
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university.
- LVN or Registered Nurse active California license required.
- Two-three (2-3) years of nursing and/or case management experience.
- Ability to coordinate multiple details and provide appropriate, accurate information.
- Ability to work with residents, family members, and advisors, good working relationships with coworkers.
- Ability to communicate detailed information verbally and in writing.
- Ability to operate a personal computer for word processing, spreadsheet programs, and levels of care programs.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other staff.
- Must have high level of customer service skills.
