The Director will be responsible for assigning tasks and supervising work to ensure special projects are completed accurately and on time.

Candidates must possess a medical records and coding/CDI background with previous working experience at a large hospital.nn nn Duties & Responsibilities: nn Supervise and guide the Medical Records Health Information Systems staff.

Assign tasks to staff and ensure jobs are completed on time.

Oversee the completion of special projects.

Implement an efficient system for receiving, investigating, and reporting HIPAA privacy breaches.

Develop and implement a system for receiving, investigating, and reporting HIPAA privacy breaches.

Develop and implement educational activities to promote information privacy awareness.

Collaborate with the Chief Information Officer on HIPAA Privacy and Security policies.

Stay informed on applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards.

Cooperate with the Office for Civil Rights and other entities to investigate and resolve possible PHI breaches.

Implement educational activities to promote information privacy awareness.

Stay updated on applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards.

nn Qualifications: nn 5+ years of experience in Medical Records.

2+ years of experience as a Supervisor.

RHIA with Bachelors degree in Medical Record Administration or similar field.

RHIT with Bachelors degree in Health Information or similar field.

LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment.

Certified as a Privacy Officer within 2 years of being hired.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills.
