– Qual & Safn Location US-CA-Los Angeles Job ID 2021-11079 Category Management nOverviewn nnThe Medical Director Quality & Safety has overall responsibility for the clinical patient care processes and outcomes across AltaMed’s enterprise.
He/she addresses clinical, programmatic, and population management issues in collaboration with the other medical directors, and is the medical leader for quality and safety.
This position chairs the Corporate Quality Committee, Clinical Quality Improvement Committee, and presents/updates the Board Quality Committee on AltaMed’s quality, safety, population health performance across all lines of business, as an integrated care delivery system.nn nResponsibilitiesn nn1.
Build, hire, train, grow, and manage subordinate staff.nn nn2.
Serve as the physician leader on clinical quality, safety, and QI/QM function for the enterprise, including IPA network.nn nn3.
Provide strategic vision and road map for quality, safety, and population management in alignment with managed carenn nn principles.nn nn4.
Collaborates with department heads on multiple functions to ensure desired quality and safety outcomes.nn nn5.
Serves as the quality champion in the transformation to achieve the triple aim.nn nn6.
Chairs CQC and CQIC, presents to Board Quality Committee.nn nn7.
In collaboration with the Medical Director of Medical Education and VP of Medical Group, work to develop, implement andnn nn monitor evidence-based clinical guidelines and protocols.nn nn8.
Assist in the development and implementation of QM Corrective Action Plans for periodic audits by health plans and outsidenn nn agencies.nn nn a) Execute and run processes to monitor and improve:nn nn b) Quality outcomes – HEDIS, Appropriateness of Care, and dental outcomesnn nn c) CMS Star rating – medical leader that leads the organization to 4.5 CMS Star for provider groups (Office of Patientnn nn Advocate, IHA)nn nn d) Safety outcomesnn nn9.
Patient Centered Medical Home and Team-Based Care outcomesnn nn10.
Develop and implement internal quality and safety measures as per directive of the Executive Governance Committee, asnn nn needed.nn nn11.
Develop and implement national standard safety measures.nn nn12.
Be proactive in development of new policies to improve patient safety, and quality outcomes, in alignment with volume tonn nn value transformation of health care delivery system.nn nn13.
Assign and supervise staff on the following:nn nn a) Ensure that peer review chart audits are being conducted, identify problems and provide guidance for resolution, asnn nn required by health plans, HRSA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies.nn nn b) Oversight of effective drug safety and administration reviews and pharmacy policies are implemented, to improvenn nn outcomes and safety.nn nn c) Oversight of the physician peer review process.nn nn14.
Perform other related duties as assigned.nn nQualificationsn Board certified physician.
California License to practice medicine, and DEA License.
Previous experience with computer based systems and analytic software strongly preferred; Electronic Medical records experience preferred.
Experience in statistical analysis and predictive analysis.
