Dental Assistant

If you’re  a dental assistant that wants a “home” for stability and a challenging career, then we’re happy to have you!  Skills you have already learned are welcome…and, the most important part of any occupation is being part of a team, helping fellow workers and being helped yourself when needed on those “busy days” in the office.   Our office doesn’t fit you into a “shoe” or one specific duty…as an assistant, you have duties that span the office, from educating patients, to fulfilling treatment plan information and knowing computer software systems within the office.  If you don’t know them, we’ll teach you and expand your education.  Responsibilities

  • Work with other team members to coordinate  throughout the day
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
  • Welcome patients in the dental office
  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
  • Schedule appointments

Skills

  • Willingness to learn systems and software of the office
  • Proven experience as dental assistant
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
  • Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $22.00 – $28.00 per hourBenefits:

Experience:

  • Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred, but not mandatory)
