Schedule: Part time, Monday-Friday, 1p-5p Located at the Clinic in Auburn, IN Sign-On Eligible of up to $7,500 Job Summary Must be able to perform complex technical functions to operate Computerized Tomography equipment to produce highest quality exams.
Position patient, process pertinent patient data, perform procedure and record data in PACS.
Technologists must assess the adequacy of the images and judge if correct slices were obtained.
Must be able to administer intravenous contrast for procedure and be able to react to emergency situations.
Obtain adequate patient history.
Assure emotional, mental and physical well being of patient.
Must obtain CPR certification.
Technologists must be able for emergency call.
Transports patients as required.
Must be able to perform exams on all ages (pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric).
The Technologist will apply principles of radiation protection and the ALARA principle, exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures, provides patient care essential to radiographic procedures, recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures, establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and the Medical Staff.
Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications Licensure: Current IN State Board of Health Certification Registered by the ARRT within 1 year BCLS within 30 days of hire CT registry preferred Experience: Experience preferred, will train registry eligible candidates.
Education: Completion of a two year course of study at an approved School of Radiology.
Other: To assure emotional, mental and physical well-being of each patient, the technologists must use judgment based on written and verbal communication, evaluation and summarization of each individual patient.
Initially question patient on symptoms, communicate this to radiologists before or after the exam, perform the exam, (according to dept.
procedure manual) and follow through completely with patient release.
Results may need to be called to the ordering physician.
Each exam must be documented in electronic medical record upon exam completion and archived.
Requires strong working knowledge of normal growth, development, related behaviors, needs, comfort, and range of treatment appropriate to age (including child, adolescent, aging adult) and diagnosis of patients served to support the provision of an individualized multidisciplinary plan of care.
