UCan do all this and more at UCLA Health.As a Clinical Social Worker at the UCLA Simms/Mann Center, you will provide comprehensive psychosocial care to patients with cancer and their families.

This will include case management, psychosocial needs assessment, and individual, group and family support.

You will provide referrals for economic, psychological, social, hospice, home health and other services needed to elevate the quality of life of patients and their families.

You will also:
• Orient new patients and visitors to the Center’s services
• Direct patients to the most appropriate services
• Collaborate with other oncology professionals to promote patient quality of life
• Serve as patient advocate
• Conduct therapeutic support groups
• Provide training to interns and volunteers
• Participate in program evaluation
• Identify the need for new services
• Update and screen the Center’s resource referral network and website
• Provide care in Santa Barbara and Ventura as necessaryJob Qualifications:We’re seeking a compassionate licensed clinical social worker with:
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly preferred.
• Master’s degree in social work
• Knowledge of psychosocial and other rehabilitation issues for cancer patients
• Familiarity with the most common cancers and their treatments
• Knowledge of psychosocial distress screening instruments
• Ability to formulate assessments of patient’s psychosocial needs
• Strong psychosocial intervention abilities
• Computer proficiency with database software and electronic medical records
• Ability to identify and provide referral sources for economic, psychosocial and home health care programs
• Ability to facilitate individual, group and family therapy interventions
