Clinical Psychologist, Sleep Research

Responsibilities

The Sleep Research Group within the David Geffen School of Medicine – VA Wadsworth department is seeking to hire a part-time Clinical Psychologist to provide cognitive behavioral therapy to research participants.

Duties include:
Provide psychological/behavioral sleep interventions
Counsel study participants on use of study research equipment (e.g.

wrist actigraphy, sleep monitoring device) used for study visits
Review patient-reported data (e.g., sleep diary/logs) and study-specific equipment data (e.g., wrist actigraphy)

Qualifications
Current, valid California Clinical Psychologist license
Must have minimum of 1 year internship and 1 year of fellowship/post-graduate experience
Knowledge and practice of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
Knowledge of the principles and practices of behavioral sleep medicine
Experience coordinating research projects including data collection, administering of assessments and interventions
Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of health services and clinical research to provide expert advice and consultation
Ability to implement behavioral interventions and conduct, score and interpret clinician-administered interviews
Ability to apply principles of adult education to develop appropriate education materials for patients and training materials for research staff
