Clinical Psychologist

ESPONSIBILITIES:
The Behavioral Health Therapist is responsible for the delivery of clinical services to assigned clients. Clinical services are geared towards symptom reduction as a means to improve functional impairments. The therapist ensures coordination of care and flexibility of services. This position oversees all clinical activities and works with case management, rehabilitation and medical staff in the provision of comprehensive service delivery.

DUTIES:
1. Conducts individualized assessments, gathering information from the client, care givers birth parents, county social workers and probation officers, etc.
2. Formulates, implements and evaluates client care and coordination plans
3. Provides individual, group therapy and family therapy
4. Provides crisis intervention
5. Establishes positive, nurturing relationship with clients within professional boundaries and in accordance with agency policies
6. Attends team meetings, case conferences, staff meetings, school meetings and trainings
7. Meets weekly with supervisor concerning client and program issues
8. Maintains thorough documentation including, but not limited to, intake documentation, progress notes/reports and discharge summaries in compliance with the standards set by EBHS Policies and Procedures and in accordance with State of California standards for Med-Cal EPSDT and other funding sources
9. Completes progress notes within 48 hours of service delivery
10. Work hours that are determined by the needs of client.
11. Participates in the on-call duty, providing crisis intervention support to clients and their caregivers.
12. Meets required productivity requirements
13. Participates in peer reviews
14. Participates in agency/program performance and quality improvement projects
15. Adheres to agency safety protocols
16. Performs other duties within the therapist’s scope of practice as prescribed by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. LCSW or LMFT
2. One year experience in comparable behavioral health agency
3. Valid California Driver’s License and an insurable driving record
4. Criminal record and health clearances
5. Excellent organizational, analytical, written and oral communications skills
6. Must work well under time constraints and deadlines, and have flexibility to function in a fast paced environment
7. Demonstrated experience working with an ethnically, culturally and racially diverse client populations

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Must have the visual, physical and technical ability to independently operate a variety of office equipment including the use of a computer.
2. Must be capable of bending, stooping, filing, lifting of at least 25 lbs and able to interrupt physical altercations
3. Must have the ability to verbally communicate well with others.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/INTERACTIONS
1. Interfaces with all levels of management, staff, clients and families including other programs and partner agencies.
