The Clinical Nurse Specialist serves as a resource/consultant for all departments regarding clinical specialty, conducts/ participates in research across varied patient populations.
Develops, coordinates, delivers and /or evaluates educational activities for hospital staff, patients and family members.
Leads outcome-based approach to patient care by insuring evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary care delivery.
Minimum Education: Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Registered Nursing.
Minimum Experience/Knowledge: 5 years acute care nursing experience required.
Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients.
Demonstrates ability to utilize effective, appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as Internet and access and utilization.
Ability to participate in and utilize research for improvement of patient-care practices.
Required License/Certification: Valid California Registered Nurse License.
California Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification Current Basic Cardiac Life Support training.
Advance Cardiac Life support (preferred) Specialty Certification (preferred).
If no certification upon hire, one must be obtained within 12 months of hire, and maintain renewal.
Fire and Safety Certification.
If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 90 days of hire, and maintain renewal before expiration date.
