Clinical Laboratory Scientist

-We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist for a Full Time Day shift for our on-site position in the city of Los Angeles, CA.


JOB TITLE: Clinical Laboratory Scientist 
DEPARTMENT: Laboratory
STATUS: Full-time
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday with rotational holidays & weekends
HOURS: 8:00am-4:30pm
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA 90033

Position Summary:
Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, test result reporting. The CLS provides service in one or more sections of the laboratory with a high level of accuracy, precision and timeliness and ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory agency standards. Provide service to patients of all age groups. Non-technical duties include taking supply inventories, stocking supplies, cleaning and maintaining work area, equipment and instrumentation.

Job Duties:
 – Accurately performs and reports clinical tests in various sections of the laboratory.
  -Maintains precise documentation in accordance w/ accrediting body & laboratory policy.
  -Analyzes and appraises lab results relevant to the pertinent QC data.
  -Competently solves problems and makes independent decisions.
  -Assists others with more difficult procedures or interpretations.
  -Trains and orientates new employees.
  -Recognizes and resolves variances from normal test results.
  -Documents quality improvement activities according to protocol.
  -Manages variance log processes and updates database.

Job Requirements:

-Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology
-California Dept. of Public Health (CDPH) License Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
-1 year to 6 months of experience working in an acute care facility.

-Valid Annual Health Clearance
-PPD/TB or recent chest X-Ray (if history of positive TB)
-MMR & Varicella Positive Titers or proof of two vaccinations for each
-Hepatitis B Vaccination or Positive titer
-Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Card
-Proof of Current Continuing Education Units (CEU’s)
