Job Description A Brighter Day is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in our Los Angeles location. The RA/C.N.A./HHA/MA/CG assists the professional staff by performing various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the residents. Responsible for the delivery of resident care (daily ADL’s, baths, personal grooming, feeding, etc.) as directed by the RN, LVN, or NP. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, punctual, and enjoys helping others. This person must be reliable, empathetic, and be able to work with all types of people. Responsibilities: Monitor residents to ensure their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and ensure that any significant changes are communicated to the next shift staff as well as a document on daily rounds Assist in serving meals and other dining needs (washing dishes, separating for and storing in proper container, cleaning counters, sweeping and mopping, clean refrigerator, etc.) Ensure no food/drinks or open container are taken into residents’ rooms so its kept clean and sanitized at all times Assist clients with having their laundry done based on a daily schedule Conduct housekeeping duties Requirements: Must have the legal right to work in the United States Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English Minimum one-year experience as an RA Able to read, understand and follow individual patient care plans Able to obtain and record resident’s temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, intake/output, and assist with specimen collection (urinalysis, etc.) Able to meet health, compliance and competency requirements Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and minimal supervision Experience completing medication logs to accepted industry standards Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred TB Clearance Must have experience with mental health patients Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation Pass each healthcare competency exam and/or skills lab including managing or defusing assaultive behavior training program or similar courses Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization. Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports. Current, valid Driver’s License with a reliable vehicle Detail-oriented with effective time management, organizational, written, verbal, and computer skills Knowledge of infection control procedures, including proper handwashing techniques, contact with blood spills, and standard precautions Work environment: RA, HHA, CNA, and MA will be exposed to dust, noise, and odor. The noise level in the work environment can vary from extreme noise to extreme quiet. May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.
