Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse III – 10 Hour Day

Job duties:

The Registered Nurse, Clinical Nurse III as a professional practitioner, assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. Work in an extremely fast-paced environment (Electrophysiology and Cardiac Catherization procedure rooms). Cross-train to circulate, monitor, scrub for invasive procedures (Electrophysiology and Cardiac Cath) for population neonate to geriatric. Care of Cardiac patients from point of admission to discharge. Prolonged hours in procedure setting with the x-ray exposure. Responsibilities include: On-call coverage for emergency procedures evenings, nights, weekends with an expected 30 minute maximum response/arrival time. The schedule for this position will be four (4) 10-hour shifts on weekdays, and potentially a Saturday, as well as being on-call for nights and weekends approximately 6-7) times during every six-week period. Employees who live more than 30 minutes from the facility will be expected to stay in a local hotel while on-call in order to be available during emergencies

Education:

BSN Strongly Preferred

 

License required:

Valid California RN License required BLS, ACLS, PALS required CCRN, CVRN, or RCIS preferred (Candidates must commit to obtaining a specialty certification within one year of hire to maintain CN III status)

 

Experience required:

Minimum of 3 years of Acute Care Nursing experience required Minimum of 1 year of Critical Care experience strongly recommended Special Procedures/Cardiac Cath Lab/EP experience preferred in diagnostic and therapeutic interventions with all patient populations for CN II or III qualification Minimum 2 years of appropriate Cath Lab/EP experience required for CN III qualification, otherwise will be considered CN II. Meets clinical criteria and protocol for Clinical Nurse III (minimum 3-5 years RN experience) Critical Care or Emergency Department strongly recommended.

 

Physical demands:

The physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, transport patients and equipment, gurneys, pull and transfer patients from bed to procedure table. Able to stand for prolonged periods of time wearing lead aprons weighing 15 – 20 lbs. for prolonged periods of time. *Must have ability to be on-call for nights and weekends approximately 6-8 times during every six-week period
