nn LICENSED BILINGUAL PSYCHOTHERAPIST & FORENSIC EVALUATOR nn nn(Full-Time FSLA Exempt)nn nnPosition Available starting after March 1nn nnLocation: Virtual during pandemic, Los Angeles/Ktown & travel to Victorville when it is safe.nn nn n nn nnThe Program for Torture Victims (PTV) assists immigrant survivors of torture and persecution who have stood up for freedom, equality and human dignity.

Since 1980, PTV has helped new U.S.

refugees, seeking asylum from over 70 countries, heal their physical and psychological wounds and start a second life here in California.

nn nn n nn nnPTV has a unique opportunity for a passionate, bilingual/multilingual licensed mental health professional who is also able to conduct forensic psychological evaluations to support immigrant trauma survivors in detention or in immigration removal proceedings.

The therapist will evaluate asylum seekers using telehealth during the quarantine period and in-person at immigration detention centers near Victorville or the PTV office when it is safe.

nn nn n nn nn Major responsibilities include: nn nn
•Interviewing and assessing asylum seekers;nn nn
•Authoring psychological reports as evidence in immigration court; nn nn
•Serving as expert witness in asylum hearings and immigration court; nn nn
•Working with and maintaining close relationships with partner legal services organizations or pro bono attorneys in survivor care and representation; nn nn
•Providing trauma-informed therapeutic treatment and case management as indicated if survivor is released from detention;nn nn
•Maintaining clinical and progress documenting in PTV’s client database; and nn nn
•Other survivor related projects and organizing work relevant to survivor care as assigned by Clinical Directornn nn n nn nn The successful candidate will have the following qualifications or attributes: nn nn
•A CA-licensed mental health professional (LCSW, MFT, PsyD, LPCC).nn nn
•Fluent in an additional language(s) such as Spanish, Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Farsi, French, Hindi, Mandarin, or Russian is required.

•Have excellent interpersonal, communication, collaborative and teamwork skills.nn nn
•Strong writing skills and ability to adhere to critical (but reasonable) report deadlines for court.nn nn
•Have a minimum 5 years providing trauma-informed therapeutic care (assessments, therapy, crisis intervention and case management) including with refugee/immigrant populations.nn nn
•Experience conducting forensic psychological assessments and evaluations OR willingness to learn.

(Training and support will be made available)nn nn
•Comfortable substantiating and defending findings as an expert witness in LA Immigration Court.nn nn
•Holder of CA Driver’s License and ability to travel to LA court and to detention centers in San Bernardino County.

There may be some occasional overnight stays in Victorville.nn nn
•Experience working with interpreters is a plus.

•Strong organization and time management skills.nn nn
•Strong in computer skills, including experience working with electronic client care databases and MS Office software.

nn nn n nn nnSalary range is $70-$80K for LCSWs and LMFTs.
