The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics, in the Division of Psychiatry at CHLA, and the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at USC are actively seeking a full time faculty member for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry (Clinician Educator).

The Division of Psychiatry is looking for psychologists with APA-accredited training in Child and Adolescent Psychology to join our team and participate in the newly created Behavioral Health outpatient program to assess, diagnose, and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. 

Candidates with thorough knowledge and experience with psycho-diagnostic interviewing to determine diagnosis according to DSM-V, alongside the following skills/experience, are preferred:
Prior experience using well-established psychological assessment tools Trained and certified, as applicable, in delivery of evidence based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapies Knowledge and experience providing clinical supervision of psycho-diagnostic assessments, evidence based treatments, and documentation Knowledge and experience with teaching and training others (clinicians, students, practitioners) Knowledge of Windows-based computer software and electronic medical records Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team Knowledge of child abuse and domestic violence reporting requirements, and other significant legislation and laws regulating mental health practice, including the ability to make appropriate interventions based on law and policy Excellent writing, verbal, and planning skills, including ability to write clear and concise reports Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including holidays, as scheduled and assigned
Candidates are required to have a Ph.D.

or PsyD in Clinical Psychology, a California State License by the Board of Psychology, and be ABPP-certified or ABPP-eligible.

CHLA serves as the principal pediatric referral resource for children and adolescents in the Southwestern United States, and is recognized for its advances in pediatric care, teaching, and research.

In the last year, Children’s Hospital had been ranked #5 on the US News World Report Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll with 10 nationally ranked pediatric specialties.
