The new Assistant Nurse Manager will join a vibrant community hospital that’s part of one of America’s top health systems. The OR Assistant Nurse Manager will help lead a Surgical Services team that directly supports the high-quality care that this hospital is known for.

Reporting to and supporting the Perioperative Services Nursing Manager, with a dotted line to the Administrative Director of the Surgical Service Lines, the Assistant OR Nurse Manager will play an integral role in this unit. Directly supported by two CNOR Charge Nurses, and a specialty surgery Nurse Coordinator, you’ll be a servant leader to some of Los Angeles’ most amazing Scrub and Circulating RNs and support staff.

The Perioperative Services department in this hospital known for offering a full range of surgical services, including a well-known Robotics program, Orthopedics, ENT, Bariatrics, (a super busy) Outpatient Surgery program, and many more. The Assistant Nurse Manager will play an important operational role in keeping this 12-OR Surgical Services Unit running smoothly, as well as an important clinical role overseeing a great team. The Surgeons and Nurses here have a reputation for being fantastic to work with, and the unit is said to feel like a family.

The Surgical Services Assistant Nurse Manager’s core responsibilities will be in leading the operations and clinical oversight of an amazing team. You won’t be expected to provide direct patient care often, but you’re someone who knows what to do. Direct Operating Room experience, circulating or scrubbing, will let you provide mentorship and guidance to this high performing team.

This person will also play a large role in leading administrative operations for the department as well. The OR Assistant Nurse Manager will help develop and maintain the department’s budget, will review and develop operating procedures and unit policies, and will provide direct performance evaluation and feedback. Working alongside the Surgical Services Educator, you’ll help develop training programs and ensure that staff are working to their potential.
