Due to our size and geography we cover, career growth is always possible.Job Expectations and DescriptionSummary of Job Description:The dental assistant will greet patients, lead them to the examining room, and prepare them to see the dentist.

Main responsibilities include assisting the dentist in caring for the patients, as well as all other duties a registered dental assistant is licensed to perform.

The dental assistant must follow all OSHA and HIPPA regulations, while working collaboratively with their team to provide quality patient care.Duties and Responsibilities:Service ExcellenceAbide by all protocols and policies of All In One DentalFollow all duties set by the Dental Practice ActPrepare and assist in dental proceduresPerform housekeeping duties before seating each patientPrepare the operatory with all necessary instruments and moving equipment into placeConfirm all equipment is functioning correctly before seating a patientAssist any doctor on staff if assistance is requestedProvide all patients with oral hygiene instructions and post-operative instructionsVerify a patient has a documented next visit appointment before the patient is dismissedMaintain a clean central sterilization areaStaff must speak English at all times unless communicating with a patient who only speaks a foreign languageAs an employee of La Smiles, it is the employee’s responsibility to report all broken or damaged equipment and instruments to the supervisor or manager immediatelyCompetencies:To perform the job successfully, an employee should demonstrate the following competencies:Listen without interrupting and keep emotions under controlRequest clarification when neededMeet the highest standard of attention to dentalArrive to work on time and dressed appropriatelyFollow safety and security policies and procedures, immediately notifying management of unsafe conditionsUse equipment and materials in accordance with instructions givenQualifications:Comprehensive understanding of dental instrumentsExceptional customer service skillsAbility to read and understand basic instructions and memosVerbal communication skills while working with doctors and caring for patientsAbility to add and subtract whole numbers, change money for patients, and determine appropriate item quantities to orderAbility to resolve problems or concerns of the patients in a professional mannerEducation:A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.Certificates:RDA LicenseX-Ray LicenseCPR CertificationUltrasonic Certificate (preferred, not necessary)Coronal Polishing Course (preferred, not necessary)Pit & Fissure Sealant Course (preferred, not necessary)Physical Demands:The physical demands described here represent some of those that must be met by an individual to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.While performing the essential duties of this Job, the employee is commonly required to stand, talk or hear.
