Our Safety Specialist is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation of all Safety Policies and procedures of the plant.
Manage the safety and health of all employees by complying with all internal and applicable regulations.
Promote a positive safety attitude by providing leadership by example.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to training employees, planning, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
In particular, you will:Hands on Management of Industrial Management SystemConduct Monthly Safety MeetingsMaintain all regulatory permits that pertain to plant operations, initial and renewals.Report injuries and vehicle accidents to Safety Director.Manage accident and injury claims, assisting with investigations.Ensure facility is prepared and in compliance for all OSHA.
DOT, EPA, DHS, FDA, County and Internal audits as required.

Even if you do not meet all of the qualifications below, we still encourage you to apply Bachelor’s Degree from four (4) year college or university or 2 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.Working knowledge of Safety and OSHA regulations preferred.Proven ability to work effectively under deadlines and with little supervision and to complete a high volume of paperwork accurately and on time.Proficiency with entering and extracting data into and from a computer.PC proficient with Microsoft Office programs and ability to work with new software packages.Excellent verbal and written communication skills—must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of internal customers and outside vendors.Possess strong organizational skills; ability to successfullymulti-task.Must be detail oriented and able to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.Must be a team player with the ability to work closely with peers.
