AcuFocus is looking for a Director, Medical Science LiaisonsThe Director, Medical Science Liaisons will build, lead, and develop our team medical science liaisons.

This position reports to the Chief Global Clinical, Medical, and Regulatory Affairs Officer.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement key initiatives to support field medical strategy.Develop and lead conferences activities for field-based team including pre-conference planning.Provide coaching for field MSL team including technical and presentation training.Identify opportunities for cross-functional collaboration to develop effective strategies, including clinical research, clinical operations, medical safety, sales and marketing.Partner with the commercial organization to ensure harmonious product messaging and provide feedback and insights from healthcare providers regarding AcuFocus products.Be an integral part of the launch-readiness team, providing ideas and guidance to the leadership team to ensure a successful launch of the IC-8 IOL.Develop and implement MSL tools for eye care providers.Analyze and communicate qualitative and quantitative metrics and data related to field team activities.Ensure compliant eyecare provider interactions per regulations.Competence RequirementsLeadership skills: Effective leader who can be a role model and mentor to the MSL team.

Ability to communicate well, inspire and motivate others, and be an advocate for their team.Interpersonal skills: Ability to collaborate internally as a key member of medical affairs leadership to collect insights and metrics that will shape company strategy and priorities.

Work with eye care providers to understand their needs and help them better serve their patients.

Creative vision: Develop creative programs for the MSL team and identify differentiation opportunities for working with key opinion leaders.

Education RequirementsDoctorate degree required (MD/DO (Ophthalmology), OD with ophthalmic medical device experience preferred.PhD with strong ophthalmic medical device experience will be considered.

Experience RequirementsA minimum of five (5) years of work experience of which two (2) must be in eye care medical affairs, a minimum of two (2) years as a medical science liaison and two (2) years managing a field-based team.

Ophthalmic medical device experience preferred.

Required Licenses/CertificationsActive OD, MD or DO license required for applicants with relevant clinical qualifications.
