Senior Contract Manager, Government Accounts

We are hiring for a Senior Contract Manager, Government Accounts in Allegan, MI; however, this position could work 100% remotely as well.

This individual will manage all aspects of the sales contracts with the Department of Veterans Affairs and Defense Logistics Agency, together making-up the 6th largest customer for the Rx division.

This includes the management of the company’s Federal Supply Schedule (“FSS”) and any National Contracts.

Incumbent will be responsible for developing strong relationships with the appropriate contracting officers at both agencies and will be responsible for determining what products should be added to or removed from the contracts, growing overall contract sales, negotiating prices directly with the government agencies, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.

All maintenance of the FSS must be in accordance with the Veterans Healthcare Act of 1992, Public Law 102-585.

Required Skills: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent 6 years of professional experience in sales, marketing, finance or contract management.

The ability to understand and apply a variety of complex government regulations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with relationship building skills.

The ability to comprehend complex legal documents.

Negotiation skills.

Strong financial acumen.

Strong decision making skills.

Critical thinking and sound judgment.

Microsoft Office experience, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook.

Preferred Skills: Prior experience managing sales to the federal government.

Prior knowledge of the generic pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities: Ensure annual financial goals are met by effectively managing the FSS, determining which products should be added or removed from the contract and negotiating prices in accordance with P.L.

102-585.

Routinely monitor contract sales reports to identify purchasing trends and competitive pricing and make corrections to the contracts as necessary to meet forecasted goals.

Perform routine and ad hoc compliance reviews to ensure accurate membership eligibility on all government contracts, proper adherence to the Trade Agreements Act, and timely pricing maintenance subject to contract obligations.

Routinely pursue opportunities to bid on national contracts, coordinating efforts and communications with marketing, regulatory, supply chain, legal, and finance.

Maintain strong professional relationships via phone and email with several different contracting officers at each of the agencies Maintain stringent written methodology and maintenance documents in support of our Government Pricing Compliance Programs.
