ESA is looking for a Publications Services Manager to join us in one of our Southern California Offices.
This person will have at least 5 years of professional experience, preferable with an A/E/C firm, in a publication and/or word processing function accurately processing and managing a variety of complex and lengthy technical documents for final client deliverables.
Candidates will need to have 3 years of relevant experience managing multi-office department workflows, creating a collaborate team environment that delivers.

You have excellent formatting, grammar, and computer skills.
You are savvy with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, InDesign, and Adobe Creative Cloud programs and have experience with a variety of complex types of formatting including working with templates and forms.
You have worked with various forms of production, including print and digital reprographic services, CD/DVD printing and burning, tab duplication, html file output and electronic document distribution.
You enjoy supporting multiple project teams and individuals and can serve as an escalation point to find innovative solutions to technical issues, advocating for new software solutions, developing new service solutions, and providing regular educational outreach and training throughout a region.
You have a helpful, solution-oriented demeanor, and take direct action when issues arise to diffuse tensions and find positive solutions that meet the needs of the project team.
You hold a Bachelor’s degree or combination of equivalent education.
You have at least 5 years of professional experience, preferable with an A/E/C firm, in a publication and/or word processing function and 3 years of relevant experience managing a multi-office department.
You are an effective communicator able to ensure schedules are adhered to while maintaining relationships with team members.

What You Will Do for ESA
As our Publications Services Manager in Southern California, you will ensure that our publications team maintains an efficient workflow to meet deadlines, provides a high level of customer service and technical support to internal clients, and engage with department and regional staff for educational development and application support.
You will oversee department workflow and training to ensure that the publications team is consistently applying company formatting standards in Word documents, creating export files in PDF or other electronic formats, and creating hard copies for final deliverables.
This also involves coordinating document distribution, mailings, and coordinating with administrative staff, project managers and outside service providers.
You will find solutions to unique technical issues and help others to apply those solutions, create and edit Word style definitions and templates, fluently identify and correct English spelling and grammar errors.
You will foster positive relationships with project teams across the region, enhancing and internally marketing the skills and value of the publication team.
Provide training, QA review, mentoring, and lead career development discussions with department staff.
Ensure each team member is applying consistent formats to different types of documents through the application of style definitions and boilerplate templates and that print copies are being created consistently and at a high level of quality.
Take a direct leadership role in fostering innovation within the team and the company to deal with emerging challenges and opportunities and ensure that we have the best tools and workflow to meet our document related work objectives efficiently and effectively.
This may include creating macros, finding new software solutions, developing new service solutions, and providing regular educational outreach and training.
