The Public Relations Director will have the primary responsibility for highlighting REVOLT’s story and brand to drive cultural impact.
You will build and strengthen relationships with key press and influencers to extend the visibility of REVOLT in the market and execute communication strategies aimed at positively positioning REVOLT and its brands.
What You’ll be Doing:
Manage and proactively execute strategic media relations plans for REVOLTs linear, digital and branded content sales accomplishments and business activities,
Identify, package, and activate PR campaigns that advance our mission and strategy and other stories that advance REVOLT’s business objectives and brand
Establish and strengthen REVOLT’s relationship with print and broadcast press and key influencers
Develop and drive executive visibility strategy supported by creating the right content and speaking opportunities
Generate press releases, media alerts and other media related documents for distribution and strategic placement in media outlets
Evaluate all forms of communications before release to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of message.
Create and maintain a favorable public image for REVOLT by communicating programs, accomplishments and/or points of view.
Serve as communications advisor to REVOLT senior leaders.
Manage and direct the activities of an outside PR Agency.
Who You Are:
An effective communicator and storyteller who can work with cross-functional teams, manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and produce under tight deadlines
Extensive contacts and ability to build trusted relationships with key media and influencers
Excellent writing skills specifically preparing releases, internal communications and presentations
Passion for and deep understanding of Hip Hop and Black Culture
Great at writing, speaking clearly; organize, summarize, clarify, and communicate detailed ideas simply, succinctly, and accurately
Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
Ability to interact with senior executives and talent with a high level of customer service and professionalism
Enjoys working independently and/or as part of a team
Ability to travel and work weekends
5 + years’ experience in communications or media relations in TV or entertainment
Understanding of all primary social media platforms
