Public Relations Intern-SEQUEL
SEQUEL is currently accepting applications for our Summer 2023 internship program! The program will run from June 1st, 2023 through September 1st, 2023.
*** Summer internship program will be hybrid, with a mix of remote and in-person days**
This is an unpaid internship, so all candidates must be entering the program to receive college credit from their academic institution. No exceptions.
Our internship program is designed to aid in building the leaders of tomorrow in the Public Relations field. Interns are given the opportunity to have first-hand experience with the fast-paced PR industry. Whether you are looking to gain PR experience or seeking college credit, our goal is to foster a cooperative learning process for our interns by not only allowing them to be observers, but participants.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
-Creation of media lists
-Online market research
-Minor administrative duties
-Assisting with major PR events
-Cision research
-Muck Rack research
-Press Release copy
-Clippings
-Learning the basics of pitching
-Learn the basics of influencer marketing (research, outreach, and collaboration)
-Minor Graphic design and photoshop
-Assist coordinators with day to day tasks
Requirements
Qualified Candidates:
-Must be seeking an internship for college credit*
-Must be interested in working with fashion, lifestyle, hospitality, and beauty accounts
-Must possess excellent writing/oral communications skills
-Will be proficient in Microsoft Office and social media platforms
-Experience with Cision, Muck Rack or other media databases a plus, but not required
SEQUEL is a full scale Fashion, Hospitality, Beauty and Lifestyle firm with offices in New York and LA. The intensity of the atmosphere and the program gives aspiring public relations representatives first-hand experience with working at a full-service PR firm. Considering that SEQUEL is a small business which conducts large scale ventures, interns will actually be a part of crafting projects from the conception stage to the realization stage. SEQUEL works very closely with its clients and the structure of the company allows interns to become familiar with our clients and build professional relationships with them. We hope interns will identify with potential mentors on both a public relations level as well as an entrepreneurial level.
