OPPORTUNITY The Public Affairs Manager will have a critical role in ensuring Green Dot is well-positioned to advocate for charter schools. The Public Affairs Manager will manage state, county and authorizer compliance requirements, working with other departments to ensure all materials are submitted in a timely manner. The Public Affairs Manager, under the direction of the Chief of Staff, will be the primary liaison with authorizers and complete requests including but not limited to charter submission and renewal, school oversight, access to district facilities and other special projects that may arise. This position reports to the Chief of Staff. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES In collaboration with the Green Dot California Programs Manager and Green Dot National Public Programs and Authorizer Relationships Department, ensure schools are in full compliance with local and state requirements and support completion of documents as needed Lead authorizer compliance process and support schools with authorizer oversight visits, including compilation of materials and coordination of day-of operations Assist in the development, preparation and document collection for new and renewal charter petitions Collaborate with Data Analytics, organization and school leadership to create compelling data stories for each school Respond to ad-hoc requests from authorizers Support the development, preparation and document collection of applications for district facilities Ensure internal and external records are up to date Perform other duties as identified in order to meet team goals QUALIFICATIONS You have a Bachelor’s degree from a university You have a minimum of 5 years work experience (required) You have applicable/transferable experience: private sector roles in public sector policy roles; campaign aides/strategists; government experience You have excellent project management and organizational skills – able to set priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining an acute attention to detail You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office with exceptional skills in PowerPoint and Excel You are highly proficient in GoogleSuite with exceptional skills in GoogleSlides and GoogleSheets You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills – able to gather and analyze information skillfully, present data effectively and interpret written information from varied sources You have excellent communication skills – able to clearly communicate key messages through presentations and written communications for diverse stakeholder groups, effective email correspondence and timely responses You are able to adapt to constantly changing environments You have a strong sense of integrity, ethics, and drive to achieve and grow You are relentlessly committed to and have high standards for high quality execution and follow-through You are dependable, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve You will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer You will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (submission of proof of vaccination will be required) The information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor are they intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to perform the job. COMPENSATION Salary range begins at $75,000 based on experience. This position currently qualifies for a $2,500 signing bonus, to be paid in 2 installments and is subject to change.
