Field & Targeted Publicity & Promotions Assistant
Seeking a dynamic self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills who can multi-task in a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative environment.
This position works closely with executives in field & targeted publicity and promotions, national publicity & events and will be exposed to all facets of Publicity.
Responsible for coordinating multiple projects.
Must be a team player who is also able to work autonomously.
Your Essential Responsibilities:
Work directly for and support the VP and Director of Field and Targeted Publicity & Promotions including managing their respective calendars and coordinating meetings
Coordinate and support day to day project executions for field, targeted national and event publicity teams
Coordinate travel and logistics for junkets, press days, events, premieres, and conventions as directed
Manage and track PO’s and invoices for projects as assigned
Participate in brainstorming sessions for upcoming events, film campaigns, junkets, and field activations
Help generate filmmaker presentation decks, timelines, and status reports
Coordinate special projects (gathering intel on competitive titles; researching and recommending influencers & press champions; cultivating relationships with new media)
Assist event team with event logistics including planning, managing creative elements, coordinating vendors, and outreaching to talent
Cover phones to handle incoming deadline press requests
Help to coordinate press junkets, trailer launches, and assist in planning and logistics for film festivals, conventions, honors, tributes, premieres, and special screenings
Monitor master field screening chart with field team to ensure details are accurate
Oversee the agency that handles and circulates all breaks; monitor breaks as the come in and flag any “hot spots” for executive team
Create and manage master calendar for department (including culture/event/previews)
Cover talent and executives at press days, events, honors, appearances at shows, Q&A’s, events
Responsible for monitoring competitive editorial landscape and updating the team
Manage and track project budgets in concert with key project executives as requested
Track upcoming press releases based on United Artists Releasing slate, casting announcements, etc.
Coordinate and update slate documents with distribution, marketing, and communications teams
Your Background
Ideally previous experience in publicity or field publicity in entertainment, media related industries, an agency or via internships
Will have previous experience liaising with talent reps, journalists and filmmakers and have a working knowledge of the industry
Strong computer skills including MS Suite plus previous experience on PowerPoint & other presentation software
Strong communication skill both written and verbal; presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to be organized, collaborative, and proactive
Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
Must be familiar with digital landscape and emerging social platforms
Must have genuine love of all film genres and pop culture
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
