GPS is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft.

Building on the GPS mission, the Channel Sales Manager role is key to Microsoft’s channel management strategy as part of the GPS organization.The Channel Sales Director role is required to lead a senior team of Channel Sales Managers.

This team is focused on a prioritized set of Education and State & Local Government customers by supporting and accelerating those customers’ digital transformation leveraging a set of curated partner solutions (IP and Services).The role will need to orchestrate across Enterprise Sales, Partner Management and Go-to-Market leadership teams to ensure the right partner offerings are aligned to customer requirements as defined through the Microsoft solution and practice maps.Channel Sales Director will lead co-sell partner impact in Education and State & Local Government operating units and provide feedback to GPS organization where partner capacity and coverage is needed.

Channel Sales Director role requires deep knowledge of running sales teams, role orchestration across a matrixed team, and represent GPS in Enterprise rhythm of business discussions and leadership team meeting.Strong industry knowledge of Education and State & Local Government.

Experienced leading field sales roles is required.

Lead role orchestration and represent GPS in business performance and leadership team meetings.

Expertise of partners in Educations and State & Local Government to support solution selling is equally required.

Lead correction of error plans and ensures execution+ Provide feedback to program management, marketing teams, and business groups, proposing changes to resources and programs as necessary+ Staycurrenton sales compliance processes.

Verify, review and approve sales execution submissions (e.g.,funding requests).

Ensure teamsmaintainsalignment with compliance policies+ Champion executive sponsorship of innovative solutions and the presentation of solutions.

Lead regular executive engagements and reviews**Managerial and Leadership**+ Help employees develop skills andsupportstheir career interests.

Identifyperformance gaps and monitor performance to ensure plans are met.+ Lead team to accept change and retain performance levels while responding to changing demands**Qualifications****Required/Minimum Qualifications**+ 9+ years of core sales, channel sales, industry or solution selling, business development experience+ OR Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Business Administration or related field AND 6+ years of core sales, channel sales, industry or solution selling, business development experience+ OR Master’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Business Administration or related field AND 4+ years of core sales, channel sales, industry or solution selling, business development experience.+ 2+ years of people management experience.**Additional or Preferred Qualifications**+ 15+ years of core sales, channel sales, industry or solution selling, business development experience+ OR Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Business Administration or related field AND 9+ years of core sales, channel sales, industry or solution selling, business development experience+ OR Master’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Business Administration or related field AND 7+ years of core sales, channel sales, industry or solution selling, business development experience.+ Deep understanding of partner business models, industry and competition, digital transformation drivers, cloud platforms, emerging computing trends and their impact on the partner eco-system+ People management experience as a leader of Sales, Customer, Partner teams selling technology solutions/practice development, Cloud/Infrastructure technologies core sales, channel sales, industry or solution selling, business development in State & Local Government.+ Microsoftplatform experiencedesired+ Reasonable level of technical proficiency+ Extensive experience of managing virtual teams acrosssales and businessfunctions+ Inclusive andcollaborative-driving teamwork and cross-team alignment+ Strong partner relationship management and solution development skills+ Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small audiences+ Problem solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources, conflict resolution, and follow through with partnersMicrosoft is an equal opportunity employer.
