What you’ll be doing ABRAMS seeks an energetic and creative individual with superior organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a passion for children’s books to join our team as Associate Publicist for all ABRAMS children’s imprints and formats, from board books to young adult.

This is an exciting opportunity to advance to the next level and work independently on all aspectsof publicity campaigns for multiple titles each month, as well as collaborate on major campaigns with your fellow publicists and build trusting relationships with authors, agents, booksellers, and media contacts.

This position reports to the Director, Children’s Publicity and is based in our New York City office, currently with a hybrid schedule (subject to change).

You will be responsible for…Plan and execute publicity campaigns for multiple books each season in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Pitch print, broadcast, radio, podcasts, and online feature and review coverage.Schedule author tours and in-person/virtual events with bookstores, institutions, organizations, etc; staff events when necessary.Oversee author opportunities at literary festivals including strategizing pitches, communicating with festival directors, booking travel, building author schedules, and local media outreach.Attend and present at internal meetings, media pitch meetings, and author strategy calls, building strong relationships and effective collaboration with a broad range of internal and external contacts.

What skills & experience you’ll bringto us
·2-3 years of experience in children’s book publicity.Knowledge of the media landscape, as well as growing relationships with book reviewers, magazine editors and radio and podcast producers.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong project and time management ability.Knowledge of social media platforms.Detail oriented with ability to handle multiple, complex projects independently.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Netgalley, Edelweiss, and MuckRack or similar media database.Bachelor’s degree.
