WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

As part of the Technology & Innovations Infrastructure Organization this role will lead the development, execution and operationalization of the risk and compliance framework for the Infrastructure Organization that meets the policies, standards and regulatory requirements of the Bank. This leader will work side-by-side the various Infrastructure domain leaders as well as technology service owners in T&I to ensure compliance requirements are met for all Infrastructure and Cloud services as the organization delivers on its modernization agenda.An increased focus on risk and compliance is crucial as the Bank executes on its growth initiatives. This role will require senior executive interactions with the regulators, CNB and RBC. The scope will be encompassing of horizontal infrastructure and cloud functions and will require broad working knowledge of these areas. He/she will own the end-to-end process design, implementation and operationalization of compliance governance processes.The role will also oversee and ensure that service provider and third-party delivery controls and procedures are seamlessly integrated and operationalized with the Bank’s processes. This will require working with the T&I leadership team and vendor management organization to optimize and automate the integration of delivery and operational routines across our hybrid cloud environment both for internal and 3rd party services guided by principles of modern cloud architecture and agility. This role is also expected to operate with matrixed responsibility and will be required to indirectly integrate with delivery across technology and business groups. As such, experience/background in effective process engineering and re-engineering for a lean, measurable operations is key.The ideal candidate will implement best practices to ensure infrastructure services continue to meet the dynamic demands of the business and market. The role will be responsible for significantly contributing to CNB’s platform modernization objectives to ensure guardrails are optimally instituted to sustain a compliant ecosystem.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Responsible for designing and implementing IT infrastructure services risk and compliance framework in a hybrid cloud environment. As engineering continues to adopt modern cloud practices, the ratio of public cloud services in the ecosystem will expand. Implementing and operationalizing a controls platform will enable the Bank to accelerate cloud consumption in a responsible and compliant manner. Experience in delivery and operations is critical to ensure practices do not impede delivery speed and agility.
  • Responsible to work and partner with T&I leaders to integrate risk and control requirements with delivery and operational processes.
  • Responsible for materially contributing to the execution of Infrastructure’s risk and compliance programs as well as ongoing governance of sustainability commitments and measures.
  • Govern compliance to RBC & CNB policy, standards and regulatory commitments relative to infrastructure and cloud services. Advance reporting practices and metrics alongside infrastructure’s services transformation.
  • Evolve / enhance third party integrations to improve controls transparency for critical services used. This is in recognition of the need for increased visibility (e.g., end-to-end testing, continuity validation) given the high pace of change observed in the market that has a direct effect on the Bank’s operations. Requires close partnership with vendor management.
  • Partners with stakeholder areas to coordinate an end-to-end change agenda to enable integration and guarantee sustained compliance to the Bank’s policies, standards and regulatory commitments while progressively executing and scaling infrastructure/cloud services to meet the business’s growth objectives.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 12+ years of experience in experience in Information Technology
  • MInimum of 5+ years of experience in a direct management leading large teams, including managing managers
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Infrastructure transformation & modernization

Skills and Knowledge

  • Broad market and technology knowledge combined with the experience managing highly compliant platform and infrastructure services
  • Strong background in implementing large transformational programs. This experience will enable the leader to successfully bridge organizational objectives with risk and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to navigate multiple executive levels, stakeholders and operational teams to successfully drive the modernization and digitization of compliance practices
  • Strong process engineering and re-engineering background to ensure controls and processes are accounted for across vertical and horizontal functions validated by continuity and sustainability measures
  • Experience designing platform services enabled by hyper infrastructure automation
  • Experience in designing, implementing and supporting complex infrastructures across multiple landing zones in a hybrid cloud environment
  • Experience working with cloud-based platforms (primarily Azure) in an enterprise environment
  • Experience leading a team through a transformation while sustaining strong risk and compliance metrics
  • Strong ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and influencing ability who can win the confidence of individuals at all levels, both inside and outside of the organization
  • Ability to provoke thought leadership in others
  • Ability to influence resources to deliver in a matrix environment while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership skills & demonstrated matrix organization management experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams with input from resources from a variety of teams, delivering high quality, on budget, within schedule solutions as an IT service.
  • Broad industry knowledge and collaboration skills to bring forward new ideas to improve service delivery, speed, and cost optimization.
  • A strong understanding of Information/Application Security and compliance requirements on premise and in the cloud
  • Understanding of cloud ecosystem and leading edge cloud emerging technologies
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organization skills with a results-oriented mindset
  • Strong strategic planning discipline, with experience building and communicating business cases for technology change
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with both business and IT stakeholders and leaders, as well as related IT project and operations teams
  • Knowledge of varying architecture methodologies, with demonstrated ability to select and apply the appropriate method to the problem at-hand.
  • Grasp of current and emerging technologies and trends, with ability to rapidly assess and apply new and emerging technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to assess necessary activities and prioritize for completion of assignments using excellent time management, prioritization skills and work ethic
  • Strong analytical problem-solving ability
