Location: REMOTEDescription: Our client is currently seeking a Solution Architect.Must have experience AWS products (Redshift, EMR, S3, IAM, RDS, AirFlow etc) in complex large-scale environment.Our client is moving their Data Warehouse to the Cloud, so they do want someone with both AWS and data warehousing/data modeling experience.
Pyspark is important, ideally someone with Redshift experience.Responsibilities: Develop architecture strategy, including functional, technical, integration, deployment, and platform elements.
Lead and execute the development of architectural specifications for enterprise solutions, enterprise solution integrations, and test and deployment.
Drive correct platform decisions for the future aligned with business needs, customer expectations, and industry trends.
Mentor development leads and teams on architecture and ensure that principles, patterns, and specifications are followed.
Creates high-level data solution design for Data Warehousing (DW) projects (conceptual model, integration model, sourcing) that align with the enterprise data strategy and translate business needs into long term information architecture solutions Create clear documentation and communications on all aspects of technology and architecture Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities: The candidate will possess both technical and customer-facing skills that will allow them to be a ” Trusted advisor”.
He or she will be able to facilitate relationships with senior personnel, as well as easily interact and give guidance to Tech leads, software developers, system architects.
The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
Highly technical and analytical, possessing 10 or more years of analytics platform implementation or operations experience.
Deep understanding of database and analytics technologies in the industry including MPP, Relational, and NOSQL databases.
Experience with AWS products (Redshift, EMR, S3, IAM, RDS, AirFlow etc) in complex large-scale environment Ability to architect and implement both traditional and modern data warehousing solutions.
Has developed in Spark using Python or Scala and is conversant in other technology stacks.
Implementation and tuning experience of Data Warehousing platforms, including knowledge of DW Schema Design, Query Tuning and Optimization, and Data Migration and Integration.
Skills in, or deep understanding of data science principles and architecture to organize and keenly aware of cost/performance trade-off in cloud architecture.
Experience in designing solutions that supports the analytics presentation layer including Dashboards, Reporting, and OLAP.
